The property is located on the old Zetlands Plantation, some 1000 feet above sea level on the slope of Mount Nevis.
Superbly furnished with a combination of West Indies Plantation-style mahogany/cane furniture w/original artwork, the main building contains a large living/dining area with French doors opening on three sides, taking advantage of the stunning 360-degree view of the Caribbean Sea & Mt. Nevis. A completely equipped gourmet kitchen opens onto the dining area.
Designed for utmost privacy, there are 2 separate master suites w/lavish marble baths, dressing room & spacious closets (each equipped with small bar, fridge & coffeemaker) overlooking the large circular pool w/cold water spa. The pool area has its own kitchen that opens onto the terrace for casual outdoor dining in the covered pavilion.
"Caribbean Glory" has fabulous views from the sunset in the west, to the distant islands of Redonda & Montserrat in the SE.
The huge Great Room with high ceilings is surrounded with glass windows overlooking the mountainous island terrain. In the distance are views of the island's deep water harbour, and the island of Montserrat beyond.
The roof follows the hips style, a Caribbean-modern touch, and is painted a soft moss green, with the house done in a soft pinky -apricot, both inside and out. The four bedroom, six- bath home is arranged on various levels on this hillside property.
Much of the 2.5 acre tract has been left in its natural state. The various parts of the house surround a semi-circular pool with round, stone whirlpool tub.
Nearby is an outdoor kitchen for drinks, snacks and outdoor dining. A large gazebo overlooks the sea beyond.
Hemlock hard wood from Guyana, granite and marble counter tops and Italian tile floors. The house is decorated with replicas of ships, mahogany armoires made on nevis that contain collection of shellsfrom around the world, and paintings galore.
The living room is filled with Indonesian furnishinsg, with works from local artisits and whimsical touches, such as a handcarved pig's head from the neighbouring island of St.Kitts.
The international flavour of the decor ranges from carved tin lamps from Morrocco, to doors and windows made of Guyanese hardwood. There is a Morroccan stained glass chandelier in the dinid area and an iron four poster bed in one bedroom.
There are tropical-style cane and wood and rattan furnishins and the entrance floor is decorated with a mosiac of Italian tumblestones.
