    About the Destination

Set in the pristine Colorado Mountains, a mile and a half from sea level and miles away from the ordinary, Copper Mountain offers world-class skiing and innumerable outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling, and fishing.

Besides being on the 10th fairway of the Copper Creek golf course, this Signature home is a true ski in/ski out property... about 25 feet off the back terrace and you are on the ski run; about 300 feet to a high speed lift and about 400 feet to the base of the East Village. Right out the back door is also the winter tubing zone.

From the home you have majestic views of Ten Mile and Gore Ranges, Super Bee and A lift ski runs, Copper Mountain and Vail Pass. You are walking distance to the Copper Creek Club House. Copper Mountain Village has shops, restaurants, bars and bistros!!

Airport Copper Mountain is served by two airports – Vail/Eagle County Airport (EGE) and Denver International Airport (DEN). Vail/Eagle County Airport is 50 miles from Copper Mountain and can take at least an hour due to winter road conditions or high summer traffic. Vail/Eagle County Airport is the most convenient option for flights into the area—as it connects to 13 major hubs around the nation via prominent commercial airlines.

Denver International Airport is about 1.5 hours away from Copper Mountain, but access is direct and convenient via I-70.

Please Note: Driving to and From Copper Mountain on I-70
Weekend traffic on I-70 can become extremely heavy causing significant delays (sometimes several hours). This is true for both summer and winter and is particularly bad on Friday evenings going into the mountains and Sunday afternoons coming back to Denver. We suggest if you are departing on a Sunday, plan to leave either early morning or in the evening. Please be sure to allow ample time to get to Denver International Airport to catch your flight.

    Travel Insurance
Due to the unpredictability of weather (especially in hurricane season), we recommend that you purchase travel insurance. There is a wide array of choices available, ranging from ticket cancellation to full medical coverage. We have listed a few basic plans from providers on the Members Only Web Site to give an overview of the various coverage options.

    Car Rental
Unless you’ll only be staying at Copper and don’t want to leave the village, we recommend renting a car at whichever airport you’ll be flying into—there are multiple ski areas and lots of sightseeing nearby! Rental SUVs with ski racks are a great idea in winter but advance reservations are strongly recommended for this type of vehicle in ski season. There is a Hertz counter at Vail/Eagle County Airport, as well as limousine and shuttle transfer companies. The shuttle system, the Summit Stage, is an excellent transportation option running at the top of every hour with peak service every half hour during the winter. The shuttle begins at 6:30am, runs until 1:45am and includes other mountain communities such as Frisco, Breckenridge, Keystone and Silverthorne.

    High Altitude Adjustment
Some people may experience altitude sickness which is caused by lack of oxygen at higher altitudes. Most people can adjust or "acclimatize" to the high altitude within a few days. Here are some tips:

  • Avoid strenuous activity for the first day or two.
  • Drink extra fluid.
  • Be careful of drinking alcohol. Its effect is magnified at high altitude.
  • Your doctor may prescribe medication to help prevent or treat altitude sickness.
  • If you have a heart or lung condition, consult your physician before going to high altitude. He or she can tell you whether your condition will let your body adjust to the lower oxygen in the atmosphere.

  • Weather
Many months of the year, temperatures can drop below freezing in Copper Mountain. Dressing in layers is the most effective way to stay comfortable. Bring a jacket for the evening just in case, even in the summer. As wintertime temperatures can be quite chilly, ski clothes are recommended (including goggles, hats, scarves, and gloves). Don’t forget sunscreen—even in the winter! Thin atmosphere and sunlight reflecting off the snow can cause nasty burns by the end of the day. Lip balm with sunscreen is also a good idea due to dry conditions, sun, and wind.

    Housekeeping Services
For stays of 4 nights or more, a mid week cleaning will be scheduled. Your Local Host will inform you of the date and time scheduled upon your arrival. For an additional charge you may schedule additional cleaning services. To arrange these services, please contact your Escape Planner prior to your arrival.
